The reason to the problem above is Avid Media Composer doesn’t have the ability to read and edit these uncompressed WMV files. In order that Avid Media Composer is able to handle your uncompressed WMV files, I would suggest you to compress the uncompressed WMV files and meanwhile transcode uncompressed WMV files to DNxHD Codec. Why do I recommend DNxHD as the proper codec? That’s because as far as we know, DNxHD codec is the most suitable choice for Avid Media Composer.
If you get the help from Pavtube Video Converter(Mac Version), then the compression work with uncompressed WMV files and uncompressed WMV files to DNxHD codec conversion will be much easier and quicker.
